BOOKS
Except
for books required by certain Upper School and Grade 7 and 8 courses
that are billed to the student's account, textbooks are provided
through the State-funded Textbook Loan Program. These materials
are supplied without charge provided they are returned after use
on time and in good condition. Otherwise they are billed at replacement
cost.
OTHER
INSTRUCTIONAL FEES
Other
required instructional materials - including those required in regular
programs in the Arts, Foreign Language, Science and Shop - are covered
by an inclusive Materials Fee as follows:
Grades K-4......$295
Grades 5-8.......$320
Grades 9-12.....$545
In addition, a Computer Training and Usage Fee of $260 Grades K-3
and $355 Grades 4-12 is required.
In rare instances, such as a Senior Project or an especially elaborate
shop project, a cost-based additional charge may be made.
ATHLETIC
EQUIPMENT
Uniforms
(except shoes and other specialized equipment) are supplied to members
of most Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman inter-scholastic teams.
Otherwise, students must provide their own athletic equipment, which
may be purchased at the School Athletic Store and billed at less
than retail cost.
TRANSPORTATION
Though
transportation to and from school is the responsibility of parents,
the school seeks to help families find the solutions they need.
The school provides shuttlebus service between the Shaker and Hunting
Valley Campuses at $420 per year, one-way or round-trip, payable
in advance. For more information, please contact the Business Office.
For
many Lower School students, bus transportation is available through
their local public schools. Transportation to and from distant communities
may be coordinated with the other CCIS Schools whenever it is feasible;
however, most families find that car pools better meet their sons'
changing extracurricular schedules.
PAYMENT
PLANS
Families
for whom the following payment schedule is not feasible are encouraged
to adopt a low-cost payment plan or secure other outside financing.
Although University School does not offer an installment payment
plan, many are available such as those provided by Key Education
Resources or Academic Management Services which are used in schools
and colleges across the country. Details are available through the
Business Office.
