University School is an independent boys' school in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 1890, the school is chartered as a college preparatory school in Ohio. University School is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States. All of its graduates attend institutes of higher learning and a large percentage attend significant and well-known institutions.

MISSION STATEMENT

The school takes boys of promise as far along their range of personal development - physical, intellectual, and moral - as they can go. Because the gifts of every child are different, and because the style and tempo of boys' learning differ in some ways from that of girls, the school is staffed and structured to be responsive to these differences. At U.S. a boy goes about his business in a climate in which he feels known and loved.

U.S. enrolls boys from kindergarten through the high school and prepares all of its graduates for college. Traditionally the school's graduates have been well represented at the most rigorous and highly selective colleges and universities in the land.

The scholastic program is designed to pass on the best of what humankind has thought and created. This program provides a highly distinctive blend of deep immersion in subject matter and rigorous training in the basic skills of learning.

Athletically, artistically, musically, and otherwise, U.S.'s extracurricular program not only offers a wide variety of opportunities for service, exercise, leadership, and fun, it positively needs the time, effort, and talents of every boy.
